Psychological safety in social work systems

According to Professor Amy C. Edmondson of the Harvard Business School, Chair of Leadership and Management, psychological safety is “the belief that you will not be punished or humiliated for expressing your ideas, questions, concerns or mistakes

Do you know ...?

A lack of strong psychological safety is often very easy to recognize.

During the meeting

During a meeting, employees are silent and do not participate even though the topic would be important to them. There are few speeches and few different opinions.

After the meeting

After a meeting, employees have a great need to talk, which was not present in the meeting. It is only after the meeting that the opinions of colleagues become visible.

Harmony Pattern

Real, actually existing problems are pasted over with the paste brush of harmony instead of being tackled and solved. During the meeting, there seem to be few problems.

Doubters

Colleagues who regularly address negative points are often perceived as annoying and downgraded as doubters. It's always the same colleagues who are critical.

Rebels

There are rebels in the team: "Even if no one wants to hear it, I'll say it anyway and won't be silenced." A few never seem to be satisfied with the plans.

Soft voices

The quietest voice in the team can be the most important on the topic, it's just that it's often not heard because it's so quiet. The "Leisen" believe that no one is listening to them anyway.

It doesn't have to stay that way.

Psychological safety within teams is changeable and can be increased in such a way that these behaviors can be resolved.

What does Psych Safety Practitioner training offer?

You will learn why psychological safety is the key to the success of all teams. But what is the level of psychological safety in the individual teams? With the help of “The Fearless Organization Scan”, the practitioner learns how to identify how the teams are currently feeling and what measures could lead to an increase in psychological safety, as well as everything else a practitioner needs on his or her way.

What makes a "Psych Safety Practitioner" training special?

In a fixed training group, you will learn how psychological safety is created, what it is and how to measure it. Only when you know exactly the state of a team can you work together with the team on an improvement. For this purpose, after the first days of theory, a scan is carried out by a team in a practical phase. They then reflect and learn together in the training group which interventions are possible and promising because they enable an increase in psychological safety in a way that has an effect on change. In this way, we ensure a high level of transfer from theory to practice. The training includes all the tools to be able to be effective immediately.

Anyone who is active in a team/organization in terms of design and culture or wants to become one, e.g. team leaders, department heads, chapter leads, area leads, release train engineers, product owners, scrum masters, as well as transformation team members.
