The
getKanban
Board Game

The “getKanban” simulation aims to introduce participants to the basics and application of Kanban. They will learn how to apply Kanban principles and practices to streamline their workflows and reduce bottlenecks.

Do you know ...?

Missing Kanban boards or inadequate handling of the existing ones can often be easily recognized.

Dissipate

Employees are constantly getting bogged down by the large number of different tasks. Employees are constantly bombarded with new implementation requests and they no longer know where their heads are.

Stayed in bed

On the delivery date, it is noticeable that another work was not completed on time, although the fulfillment of the task was actually promised and one expected that it would also be delivered.

Committals

The handover of work packages causes problems because the recipient of the packages has not been informed about it in advance, the task cannot be done and there is too much "other" work anyway.

Prioritize

Less important work packages are completed on time, while really important work packages are "falling behind".

Known Issues

Problems that have arisen for a long time reappear regularly. For example, appointments between departments are a constant hoard of "not working".

Old Board

You have already introduced a Kanban board, but it is not used correctly. The operation of the board is perceived as unhelpful, annoying and as "double housekeeping"

It doesn't have to stay that way.

The value of Kanban, the possibilities as well as the operation of Kanban boards, can be learned easily and with fun.

What does the Kanban simulation "getKanban" offer you?

Specifically, the following contents are the focus of a “GetKanban” simulation:

  • Streamline workflows (visualize tasks, prioritize, and identify bottlenecks)
  • WIP limits (limit the number of concurrent tasks, reduce bottlenecks, increase efficiency)
  • Pull System
  • Continuous improvement through regular meetings and performance measurement methods

What makes the Kanban simulation "getKanban" so special?

This simulation is designed to focus on the individual participant and the team experience. It enables participants to try out Kanban in a playful environment and to acquire important tools for their own professional life.

  • Practical tips and best practices: Participants will receive practical advice and best practices from the experienced trainer on how to successfully implement and use Kanban in their work environment.

Additional

The "getKanban" simulation can be provided with an additional challenge for the participants.

Contest

We can play in a room with up to 12 participants in 2 groups. Both groups have their own board with the same tasks and materials as their opponents.

Reward

The group that first reaches a previously defined goal will receive a prize. The prize introduces a "short-term" goal that seems attractive to both groups and encourages them to beat the other group.

Decisions

Both groups are now making their own decisions. The group that focuses on the short-term price can achieve it, but will (almost certainly) be beaten in the end.

Certificate

The simulation concludes with a certificate of participation in “The getKanban Simualtion”.
